In a surprising collaboration, video game company Ubisoft has teamed up with Hamilton to design a limited edition watch for upcoming video game Far Cry 6. The Khaki Field Titanium Automatic timepiece is worn by your character in the game in digital form, but - and this is the best part - you can actually buy the Hamilton watch in real life.
The 42mm timepiece is made with the same rugged and reliable approach that has made Hamilton popular with the military. Which is fitting, considering Far Cry 6 is about a freedom fighter on a fictitious Carribean island and stars Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Frings in Breaking Bad) as the despot in charge.
Back to the Hamilton watch then, it comes in a brushed titanium case and sports a black vinyl dial with a matte centre and a split "6" marker - a reference to the game title. It has a red seconds hand, brown leather NATO strap, and comes with an additional brown nubuck leather strap and changing tool.
Hamilton CEO Vivian Stauffer says “We know from experience that designing a prop watch for the screen doesn’t always immediately translate to a real-world product. It made the idea of someone wearing this limited-edition piece while also using it as wrist gear in-game an extremely exciting prospect and we can’t wait to see it in action.”
Far Cry 6 is out on October 7. For more information about the collaboration visit the Hamilton watch website
