It’s a family affair at the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa. There’s a 20-day festive event that’s punctuated with things to do for guests of all ages. Highlights from the programme includes building a gingerbread house and a gala dinner of an array of different cuisines. There’s even an intriguing event that involves sneaking into Santa’s house by following clues set by his little helpers.
If you’re looking for something lively, then the W Maldives is the place for you. From the 21st December the resort kicks off with a carnival parade that ends with the ceremonial tree lighting. There are festive bites and slushy shots at various spots around the place. On Christmas Eve there’s a beach party with live performances and on Christmas Day Santa will join the fun too. Bands, fire show performers and more will keep the good times pumping this festive season.
The Nautilus has recognised the tough year that 2021 has been for most and is going all-out to promote togetherness this festive season. Younger visitors can enjoy a host of edutainment options from Christmas crab racing and scavenger hunts to Maldivian language lessons. Santa will also stop by on Christmas Day to hand out gifts.
For the adults, there’s the chance to further escape from it all with a luxury sunset cruise or take a trip to the secluded sandbank, either as a couple or as a family. There’s also a blind grape tasting session alongside a special holiday menu at the resorts Mediterranean restaurant, Zeytoun.
Jet onto the award-winning private island this December and indulge in a full festive programme. It’s a packed event that includes a tree lighting ceremony, movies under the stars with complimentary popcorn and Santa arriving onto the island’s jetty in dramatic fashion.
There’s a Christmas Eve barbecue full of Maldivian style cuisine. And the Christmas Day bubbly brunch from 11am is the perfect way to celebrate the big day.
It’s not just Santa that will be performing a star turn on Velaa Private Island this Christmas. UK pop star Pixie Lott is down to perform on the 20th December to kick off the festivities, which also happens to coincide with Velaa’s 8th birthday.
The theme for the kids is Alice in Wonderland so expect white rabbits and Mad Hatters dotted around the place. There’s huge party and gala dinner on the beach with views to make your friends and family green with envy.
