Together in electric dreams.
Luxury watch brand Tag Heuer has signed on the dotted line as long-term partners with Porsche's Formula E team. From the start of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2019/20, the side will compete as "Tag Heuer Porsche Formula E Team".
It continues the Swiss-brands long association with motorsports and Porsche. The pair have clinched F1 titles together during the 80s, and partnered across other motorsports along the way.
By getting into the relatively new sport, Tag Heuer continues to drive itself towards the young watch collectors of the future.
The pair has also revealed their new vehicle alongside the the announcement. We've got to say, we're loving the new 99 X electric car especially the red towards the rear that makes it look like a futuristic fighter jet.
One thing this deal does suggest is that Aston Martin won't be getting into Formula E anytime soon. We're reading between the lines here, sure, but Tag Heuer is synonymous with the British manufacturer in motorsport, especially Formula One and endurance racing. It's unlikely it would have entered into this partnership with the German brand if an Aston Martin Formula E vehicle was on the horizon.
