Omega has unveiled its commemorative timepiece to coincide with the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. The official timekeeper of the Olympics has enlisted the help of the most decorated Olympian of all-time, US swimmer Michael Phelps, to show off its dazzling Seamaster Aqua Terra.
Available in 38 or 41mm sizes, the premium 18K yellow gold adorns a deep blue ceramic face that has been laser-engraved with a pattern inspired by the Tokyo Games emblem.
Speaking at the launch, Michael Phelps, who's been an Omega ambassador since 2004, said “If you’re an Olympian, or trying to become an Olympian, it’s a 24-hour, 7 day a week job. It’s non-stop. It’s around-the-clock.” Phelps continues “To really be prepared for an Olympic Games, you have to put in the work. You have to go through the struggle. For the journey I went five times, it was never easy, but I know the work that I was doing gave me the results that I deserved.”
