One of the world's biggest and most valuable watch auctions is heading to the Middle East. Watches Online: Dubai Edit will be hosted by world renowned auction house, Christie's between March 24 and April 9 and it's set to include some incredibly rare and sought-after timepieces.
In fact, the auction is expected to set a new record for watch sales with the Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002 in platinum from Patek Philippe up for grabs.
Across the 200 lots, the auction is estimated to bring in around $5m-$9m as online bidders look to bag themselves a genuine rarity. Amongst the collection will be a 1952-era Rolex Dato Compax, three platinum F.P Journe watches and the bejewelled and dazzling Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
Chief Watch Specialist at Christie’s Dubai, Remy Julia says “Watches Online: Dubai Edit is without precedent in the Middle East. This auction event is the perfect barometer for current collector demand, be it in the contemporary or the vintage watch space."
He continued "It brings together into one place exceptional exemplars of watchmaking, in sync with the spirit and passion of the truly discerning collectors in the Middle East.”
