Ford has finally unveiled its very first all-electric pickup truck. Pencilled in for spring 2022, the F-150 Lightning will come packing a whopping 563 bhp and is mooted to have the best acceleration of all the F-150s. And yes, that includes the Raptor. Importantly, the F-150 Lightning will have around 482 km range from a single full charge.
In terms of design, Ford has played it relatively safe - keeping the classic F-150 style. In fact, the wheelbase and width will be exactly the same, though the grille will have a few customisable options. Inside, there's a massive Tesla-esque screen in the centre console.
By the time the Lightning hits the streets, it should have competition from other all-electric trucks from Tesla, GMC and Hummer. But given the love of the gas-powered F-150 in the Middle East, we're fairly certain it'll be a big success in the region.
