Breitling and Bentley continue their bromance with the release of a stunning new chronograph
If you’re going to make a watch inspired by the component of a car, then the dashboard of Bentley’s famous 1929 Blower car is near-perfect source material. Breitling says happy 100th birthday to its car-making best friend Bentley with a beautiful and sophisticated chronograph.
The Premier Bentley Centenary Limited Edition watch has a pleasingly vintage-looking brown elm burl dial with a white tachymetre and two black sub-dials displaying a minute counter at 3 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock. The caseback features the Bentley logo, but the highlight is a plate on the left of the case engraved with ‘Bentley.’
Two versions of the 42mm watch have been produced, one in 18 carat red gold (200 pieces) that comes with a brown leather strap featuring stitching that mimics the type found on Bentley car seats, while the stainless-steel version is limited to 1,000 pieces.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern said the watch celebrates Bentley’s “history, luxury and incredible racing pedigree.” Long may this relationship continue.
